Spell Casting

Cast/ing:
Simply put the word casting means to ‘put forth’ energy or focus your will for a specific purpose like a spell or ritual.

Yes spells are fun and the term used when pagans/witches desire to speak or commune to their higher power. The ability to spell cast can be for some the reason they started looking into paganism.

What people don’t always know when it comes to casting is that there can be rules attached. Not really a “right or wrong” sort of rules but more of an understanding as to what it is you might be getting into and trying to do.

It is my advice that you don’t ever just jump into spell casting without reading every set in the spell carefully and make sure you feel comfortable with it before casting. Feel free to add or take away to a spell. It is a good idea to keep to the laws/rules/guidelines that are in place with your sacred path in mind when writing a spell.

Next week I will be talking about casting a circle before doing magickal workings.

Writing your own spells and rituals

It has been pointed out to me that before we go into doing group spells or casting individually we should have a few conversations as to how to write a spell, what goes into casting a spell, and other foundation discussions that should go along with spell work.

Writing your own spells and rituals

Know the Basics:
It’s a good idea that when you begin to write your own magick that you know what magick is to you.

Know different ways use the energy within and around you. Learn and practice how to go about raising, directing and grounding your own energy.

A great first step in casting is to know how to cast a magick circle or some type of protection. Know what it means to open the circle and close the circle and how that can be preformed.

Next plan out and know the basic outline of a spell. Look into what each step means for you. What steps do you want to take for the spell you are writing.

Look at spells that are written in the topic you are planing to write in. How are they laid out? Do you want to use the same lay out?
